Take a look at Tagxedo.
This is a very cool website. Like Wordle it also displays text in a word cloud and gives higher frequency words more prominence. But with Tagxedo the words can also be arranged in specific shapes.
So I took the text for the The Things They Carried and uploaded an image of an M16 assault rifle. Then I combined the two.
